If I run repair disk delete anything when running? I just purchased a new Seagate external 1 tb hard drive. I ran Time Machine which took about 5 hours. After that I dragged about 500 gigs of old files to it from another hard drive. The sea gate made a BEEP during that. Should I be concerned? I want to run the repair disk but don't want to lose anything. I'll call seagate about this too. I noticed it doesn't allow me to trash any folders from the seagate to the trash. Any reason?
Thanks

Disk Utility Disk Repair doesn't delete any files - but any disk repair "could" delete a file if the file was the problem or its directory entries were the problem.

Ask Seagate about the beep.

Did all this start because your startup drive is full?

Thanks. I'm retuning the drive. I think it was full.
