Do new Mac's use gamma set at 1.8?

Are the newer Mac's gamma set at 1.8?

I work on a PC with gamma at 2.2 and I have developed a PHP image gallery. I would like to know if I should take advantage of the PHP function imagegammacorrect and by using PHP detect the OS and adjust the gamma to 1.8 for Mac users. I don't have a mac and can't view my images on a mac to decided on this.
