My mid 2010 Macbook Pro isn't without its history of hardware problems, but this morning when I booted up my system I noticed that the display looked very strange, and it hasn't gone away despite several reboots and tries to solve the problem. It almost looks as if every other column of pixels just isn't working. Text is very hard to read and graphics look like they were recreated in an old version of MS Paint. For a brief period later in the day the screen flashed some strange colors then looked perfectly normal for a few minutes, then everything suddenly had a turquoise tint to it, now it's right back to where it was this morning. Striped columns of defunct pixels all across the screen. What could be causing this? AHT refuses to work on my system so I can't tell if I have a serious hardware issue or if I may be able to fix with firmware or anything. Even now it's very difficult to read what I'm typing here, but I will attach some images captured with my phone that should demonstrate what I'm talking about. Any help is appreciated.
