Discount Apple Displays...can They Be Found?

Hey guys -

I just got a mac mini - and I want to sell the 17" inch moniter that I have and get an apple cinema display. I can probably get around $300 USD for the moniter, but that is clearly not enough for the new Apple display, especically off apple's website.

Know of any good places where I might be able to find the apple cinema displays for discount - would even take them used as long as they are in good condition.

Thanks for the help. Now back to the coffin...

which size one are you looking at? the 20.1" or the 23"?

i know apple folks like to stick to apple, but the dell 20.1" is the same LCD screen but with different guts inside. i love the one i just got and you can save a bundle with dell discounts and coupons................at least when they have them :yinyang:

currently nothing running on the monitors

yeah - i mean - the moniter i have right now is perfectly fine, it's 17" liquid video. its just the fact that i really want to get one of the 20" cinema displays. must just be apple greed. but i was just wondering if there were any stores/sites out there i didn't know about that offered discount prices for used / refurbished apple goodies beside smalldog or ebay.

that 20" apple display is a thing of god.

Check out www.macofalltrades.com they usually have one or two in the periferals section. And there is always eBay. there are tons of apple displays on ebay though maybe a bit over priced.

Ah, LiquidVideo, from Circuit City. They are actually pretty good monitors, I got a 17" LiquidVideo for like $150 last X-mas to use as a dual monitor for my Powerbook. If I recall, they are really made by Samsung. The Apple screens are very nice, and I've also been looking for deals. I'm a little hesitant to buy refurb though, much bigger shot at dead pixels....

I have found several sites with more selection, but unfortunately none of them have the resonable pricing of macofalltrades. Here's a few of them:
www.powermax.com
www.baucomcomputers.com
www.wegenermedia.com
www.4daystar.com
Of these powermax has the best selction and the worst prices :-/
Also check out www.lowendmac.com they track prices from several dealers that sell used and refurbed macs. Macofalltrades updates their selection regularly so if check back from time to time they may get in what you are looking for.

Sites such as macmall sell the old cinema displays (the ones that matched the G4 Powermac's) discounted (like the 17" one). Check them out.
