How did you install it? Given the machine in your profile, the system sandboxes new apps until and unless they are properly installed. As part of that sandboxing, the OS moves the app from where you launched it to a "safe" location to launch from there. But sometimes, if the install didn't work properly, one gets that message when it tries to move to the sandbox to be run.

Maybe just download and reinstall?

@Dittoman1

I just did a Google search for DetectX Swift and I have to say that there appear to be a lot of dodgy sites offering this app.

In my opinion, all apps should, wherever possible, be downloaded from the Developer's site - not third party sites.

The official site for this app is:

May I ask which site you used for your download?

It depends on your use. Is it worth it to you, to safeguard your Mac from the sites you visit, or attachments you open?

Personally I don't use any.

It kinda sounds like you're running it from the disk image (.dmg) instead of having opened the disk image and dragged it out into the applications folder....?

You put a question mark on that statement... but you're the only one who can tell us if it works or not.

Has the pop-up stopped appearing?

If you search your computer for files with the ".dmg" extension, you may find others that need to be properly installed (and the DMG files then sent to the trash to free up space).

And, again, with your machine you are most likely on Ventura, that sandboxes ANY application as it runs for the first time, so as @NCMacGuru said, if you have any others being run from a .dmg file, they will be sandboxed for that first run, which means they will be copied to a safe location (not in Applications, something controlled by System level security), to execute. If it is your habit to run from .dmg files, stop it. Do proper installations and your system will be much safer and smoother.
