Is your photo from iPhoto? It should be a thumbnail by default when it's uploaded to M-F's.....

For so long I've wanted to get rid of the menu bar, and now that I can (using menufela) I'm not sure if I like it.

Menufela just hides the menubar. It works the same way as hiding the dock, so if I put the cursor at the top of the screen it comes back.

if there is limited screen real estate, it could be useful to hide the menu bar.
