Hi there. I'm using the messages app on desktop. Both my phone and the computer have do not disturb turned off.

Any time I type the word CAR in messages, it automatically adds "I am currently driving and cannot respond."

Any ideas?

Any ideas?

Well welcome to mac-forums, and with a rather unusual problem I'd say.

I really don't know and all I can suggest is to try doing a Shutdown, wait 30-40 seconds and then bootup and try again. Don't just Restart.

I'm assuming you don't have or are using some "type it for me" type utility???

Strange one, sorry I'm not much help.

Go to System Preferences->Keyboard->Text and look to see if CAR is defined there. Also, does it have to all caps to show that string or can it be "Car" or "car"?

Welcome to our Forums.

On your iPhone, go into Settings - Do Not Disturb.

Turn off Do Not Disturb. This should sort your problem. But there are settings you might attend to:

Lower down you will see DO NOT DISTURB WHILE DRIVING - Activate. Click on this and make sure it is set to Manually.

Below is Auto-Reply To. Click on on this and make your choice from No One to All Contacts and those in between.

Hope that helps.

Good thinking Ashwin, and wouldn't that be a dirty trick to do to do to someone's Mac, or even some worse phrase I could think of. :Mischievous: :Smirk:

Turn off Do Not Disturb.

Except that they said it was already turned Off Ian.
Both my phone and the computer have do not disturb turned off.

Or does Apple have it backwards, ie: Off is actually On????
