It seems impossible to stop Firefox and Google Chrome using Yahoo! as a search engine. Is there a way I can't find on the Web?

Hello and welcome to the forum! :)

Have you looked in the Preferences options of each browser? I use Safari and the 'search engine' is easily selected in its preference panel - see attachment. Dave

Helped for Firefox

Many thanks. It helped for Firefox, but not for Chrome. Maybe I'll stop using Chrome.

Nice to get a reply from N.C. I'm from there originally.

Hi again Bill - been living in NC since 1971 (all in Winston Salem except for 2 yrs at Ft. Bragg in the mid-70s) - love the Piedmont area - easy access to either the ocean or the mountains - originally from Michigan (wife from New Jersey).

BTW - I have Chrome on my MBPro (don't use it) but just opened Preferences in the browser and seems a search engine choice is an option - see attachment. Dave :)

Hi Harry - LOL! :) Well, I coud say the opposite, i.e. the accents 'can' be a give away - but my wife still has her New Jersey accent and my mid-western accent is pretty neutral - but the best way is to look for 'tar on our heels' - ;) Dave
