Deleting caches

if I delete all my caches by delelting everything in Library/Caches and in Users/*Your User Name*/Library/Caches, what will happen?

you can also use the excellent free MainMenu to clear caches and do other maintenance tasks

Just remember that those cache files are built for a reason. Deleting them will actually make your Mac run slower until they are recreated. And deleting them will not necessarily prevent any corruption problems. You're right, this ain't Windows!
