Hello everyone,

This is my first post here on mac-forums but I have been reading anonymously for years finding answers to questions I have had in OSX. However, Today, I haven't been able to find what I am looking for. My apologies if this has already been discussed in another thread. I did look, but wasn't able to find what I was looking for.

I bought an iMac for a friend as a gift. Right now it is running El Capitan. I think she would really get a kick out of the word of the day screensaver, especially if I could customize it to a list of words relevant to the industry in which she works. I have been reading up on this today and learning where the wordlist is pulled from. I am looking for a way to create a custom list with definitions and point the screensaver at it.

I did find this posting from 2010 on the Apple discussion boards, but I wasn't sure if anything has changed since then? Is there an easier way or is it now more difficult of a task to accomplish?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Very Respectfully,

-Cory

I updated my posting as I just noticed that I did not add the link to a discussion I referenced in the post. My apologies.

Thanks for the link. That's an interesting method for solving the problem. Even though iWeb is no more I bet a similar solution is still possible using other software. AFAIK the web serving capabilities that would need to be used are still built into OS X though I personally have not done this before.

I looked for a pre-built screensaver earlier that has a similar option but did not find much.

Thank you for the response. I am unfamiliar with AFAIK so I am not sure what that is. If you happen to attempt anything like this could you let me know how it goes? Thank you.

I think Chris Farley said it best... "Boy, I feel like a horse's patoot"

Wouldn't you know it. I rarely use those acronyms and when I do it confuses somebody. I'm going to put on the dunce cap for a while now.
