I have two MBPs, both of which have problems, so I'd like to take the parts and combine the two machines into one. I'm planning to use all the guts (logic board, hard drives, etc.) from a 13" early 2011 MBP, and put them into the body/display from a 2009 MBP.

Any reason that wouldn't work? Any differences in the iSight camera or anything else that would mess me up?

It seems like I should be able to just move the parts from one machine to the other, but if the batteries or cameras or speakers from 2009 aren't compatible with the 2011 hardware, then I might have problems.

Any thoughts?

Whoow ..... you are going to be creative :) Good stuff.
Have a look here https://www.ifixit.com
This site contains a lot of good tutorials on taking Mac's apart and rebuilding them.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Cheers ... McBie
