Hi
I have the 2Ghz Core Duo macbook and when i've tried this with different monitors, CoreDuoTemp and Menumeters, I always have it showing the clock speed in the menubar just because I like to know whats going on with my computer, along with the istat fan speeds and temperatures sitting up there was well, when my macbook gets up to around 70*C it stops clocking itself down and then the heat goes up and up. It just stays at 2Ghz which really starts to put the heat up but because it doesn't clock down it has a real problem cooling itself back off again. But while its up there everything is just lagged out. I made a thread a while back and I just assumed that it was clocking itself way back to cool itself off but it doesn't clock down at the high temperatures. When it's below 65*C it has no problem changing its frequency from 1Ghz up to 2Ghz i was just wondering if anyone else with the coreduos have this problem or its just me. It always happens when im doing something that needs a lot of CPU like converting a movie, but what else happens is it will be going screaming fast saying something like 10mins to go and then it hits around 70 and stops clocking down to control the temperature and just says something like 2 Hours remaining, the whole time the CPU usage jumps to 100% on both cores when it doesnt slow itself down but when it is under that temp and is clocking itself then it is only using about 75% per core.
