Copy and paste problem?

I have an essay due tomorrow so I copied and pasted it to send to my friend (via email) so he could see if i missed any grammar or punctuation errors, I meanwhile found a few, and when I tried to copy and paste it, it just showed up as the unedited one again. Does anyone know how to fix this or has a had a similar issue?

What application did you use to edit the document? Did you save it after editing? How did you copy and paste into your email? What email application did you use? It sounds like the email app grabbed the previous version instead of the edited.
