Hi there.
I have a MacBook Air (Early 2014). It has a Thunderbolt and 2 USB-A on the sides. I'm based in the United Kingdom.
I have a docking station (HP USB-C Dock G5) with work.
I am struggling to find a cable/connector where I can link my MacBook to the docking station so that I can project my MacBook Air screen to the big monitor on the other side of the docking station.
I am grateful if anyone knows what cable I can use for this to work. I have searched Thunderbolt to USB-C but can't find a relevant connector - I think as my MacBook Air is old.
Thanks for your help.

You need to search for Thunderbolt 2 to a Thunderbolt 3 (both the 3 or 4 use the USB-C interface) cable.

Hi there.

You can physically connect the two using this adapter from Apple:

https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MMEL2AM/A/thunderbolt-3-usb-c-to-thunderbolt-2-adapter

You will also need a male to male Thunderbolt 2 cable to connect your MBA to this adapter.

Will this all work for your intended use? I can't say. Thunderbolt 2 was kind of a red-headed step-child of an interface. Connecting to a Thunderbolt 2 port, and then using two different adapters to get it to connect to your monitor introduces a lot of uncertainty. Several times I've heard of people trying such a thing, and it doesn't always work.
