Connecting Samsung S9 Phone to 2020 MacBook Air

Hi and hello.
Im new to the group and apple.
Just purchased a new macbook air 2020 with m1 processor
Having just moved over from pc Im having trouble with connections.
My samsung s9 will not connect, I have tried everything I can find on the net with no luck.
4 cables but dont know if all c type are data?
Bluetooth works from mac to phone but not phone to mac.

Managed to get the AirDroid to work but not with cable.

If it works without the Cable and you can do all you need to, that's great. I've never used Android phones and most of us here are iPhone users. As you can imagine, all Apple devices communicate easily with each other.

I was almost too embarrassed to mention the phone make :)

Had iphone up to 4
Only reason I like the s9 is its the note and I use it all the time other than that most phones do the same so would go back to Apple.
