Anyone have any tricks for cleaning a wireless keyboard so the keys stop sticking?

Yeah. Don't. You can use some canned air to blow out debris from under and around the keys, but don't use any liquid or spray on the keyboard at all.

Keys normally don't stick unless there is something spilled on them that then dries and makes them sticky. Did that happen?

Yes. I'm not sure what it was but I hit the lower keys (V,B,C) and they stick. I have two keyboards with this problem.

Two with the same problem points to something internal to the Mac. Have you spilled something on the keyboard, assuming it's the MBP in your profile? Does that keyboard also have the same issue?

It's not the keyboard for the MBP. It's the keyboard I use for my iMac, and yes I assume I must have spilled something on it.

OK, but two keyboards with the same three keys is strange, unless both have suffered the same kind of spill or debris. Are they both Apple keyboards?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to infer that the same keys on both keyboards were sticking. The one I'm typing on now has problems with the c.v. and b.keys. The other keyboard has different keys that stick.

Ok, that's more reasonable. Probably something either under the keys or a result of a spill that dried and is now sticky. Try the air can first.

With great respect to responders, I disagree about the 'no liquid or spray'. I risk being excommunicated for this ;) .

I posted recently about cleaning under the D key on an Apple keyboard where spillage had occurred, after flipping its key cover off. Actually very easy to do, with no resultant damage.

I first used the sharp end of a nail file veeeeery gently (are you shuddering yet?), then an interdental brush, and finally compressed air, before spraying with CO contact cleaner, and putting the k/b out in direct sun. The D key is now working again.

Alas, I have had to do repeat treatment, but on the (left) Command key this time. It's a little more tricky getting it back into position, I have to warn, and a further repeat may be needed.

Piggybacking this thread, what best to clean the keys on an Apple bluetooth keyboard? The numeral keys in particular have become rather grubby. Spectacle lens cleaner, or just a damp microfibre cloth?

A bit of spit on a microfibre cloth. I know, you're all saying eww but have a close look at your screen sometime. All those little dots are saliva or worse. Ever sneezed while you were working on the computer?

Yep, and with a gob full of coffee what's more. All those little brown dots!

I've actually made a weak solution of warm water and detergent and dipped the cloth-coated finger of rub in that to clean the keyboard.

Thanks for your input.

Honestly so long as you use an almost dry cloth you're ok but its the rubbing that does the work not the detergent.
