My T-type adapter finally wore out and I replaced it with the L type as directed by the local Apple store. It is not the fault of the adapter, but today no light would come on at all. I have had this problem occasionally lately. The guy at the Apple store looked at it and said he saw corrosion. I asked him what to do and he said use a brush on it. I did use a new toothbrush and it seemed to remedy the matter.
Is there something else I need to do? Should I use that spray electrical contact cleaner? I'm afraid to use a wire brush on it. I looked at it under a magnifier and see no dirt or anything else that would prevent a good connection. I got the T-connector out this morning and it went right to work. Nothing tonight though.
Now that I have replaced the hard drive, upgraded the memory, bought a new battery and a new adapter this happens, Yes I will buy a new computer now. I sure like this OS though.
About 10 min after I posted this I brushed it with the toothbrush again and put the t-adapter on. It is now charging. But that isn't a permanent solution I know.
