Hi all,
Hoping someone can help.
I am currently using a Mac mini (late 2012) 2.5 GHz i5, 8GB Ram with 500GB SSD storage. The version I am using is macOS High Sierra 10.13.6, and there are some problems for changing partition size in Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows 10, as the only disk space I can adjust are 40 GB or (bizarrely) -8gb (minus 8gb).

Welcome to our forums.

Trying to understand your situation.... You're saying that the Boot Camp Assistant won't allow you to create a partition size for Windows larger than 40GB?

How much free space does your SSD have? And if you can post a screen shot of what you're seeing that would help us to see what's going on.

Let's try this:

Open Disk Utility from Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility. Run First Aid on your Macintosh HD and post the results here. If repairs are needed, you won't be able to do them when booted from your Macintosh HD. You'll need to boot the machine to recovery first. We'll approach that if needed. For now run First Aid.

Some questions for you:

Are there any other partitions on that SSD besides what is showing from the Boot Camp Assistant?

How large a partition for Windows do you need?

Respond to this post and we can go from there.
