Is there anyway to change the type of cursor (or is it the ibeam pointer) in Yosemite? Not the mouse/trackpad arrow pointer, but the cursor in a text document like Textedit or word, or Neooffice, etc; when you have to enter data. I have the standard vertical line, but I was wondering it were possible to change it to say, a block, like you can do i n the terminal application.

Not that I know of. I've been searching for something that would change the line insert cursor to a block cursor which is easier to see - especially since I'm in MS Word quite a bit for the work I do. There may be a third party solution somewhere but so far I haven't found one. The cursor shapes and forms are built in to Windows, and should be easy to do with OS X, but Apple has to do it. ;D
