I think if you have a Mac,you'd better use iPhone Ringtone Maker for Mac The software can create your wanted iPhone Ringtone clip from any video/audio files, and you can pre-listen the clipped music before conversion.

I'm back on Garageband. So much easier, especially now that iTunes songs have no DRM.
