Can't open Viber on Mac Yosemite 10.10.2

Hello,

I have been having problem with Viber on my macbook Air since I updated the operating system to Yosemite 10.10.2.
I can't open Viber on my mac. I checked the "Info.plist" file. The info is as follows:

Unfortunately the only version available on the website is still 5.0.0 (no sign of the 5.2.1 you mentioned above), removing the old app, re-installing it and even deleting the files under ~/Library/Application Support/ViberPC will only get you the activation screen, but after entering the 4-digit activation code it crashes right after showing the contacts window for 2-3 seconds. Each consecutive restart ends in a crash and the same messages already pasted by the user above.

Please help!

I have the same problem with Viber on my Macbook pro.
The operating system is Yosemite 10.10.2, and whenever I try to open Viber the following message appears on the screen: "Viber quit unexpectedly."
Please let me know if you find any solution for this problem.

It's more than 10 minutes that I have installed the new version (via the link that you sent) and still viber works perfectly! :)

Thank you! Unfortunately that is exactly the same version as the one available from viber.com/download/mac (MD5: c687d606a9d904bfba077224cf7acb59), and unsurprisingly it keeps crashing with the same message as before - Viber quit unexpectedly (Exception Type: EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000). I've already filed a support request directly with Viber, if anybody's having the same problem I'd suggest you do the same and they'll surely fix it (hopefully sooner than later ;)).

It's weird, my Viber worked perfectly for a few days after reinstalling using your link, but now I have the exact same problem and I can't open Viber anymore. :(
Any helpful suggestion would be appreciated!

5.0.1 is out, still no go.

5.0.1 is available for download from the viber.com website, unfortunately the problem persists.

I assume we are talking about Viber Desktop for Mac. This is interesting because I am using Viber version 4.4.1 on Yosemite 10.10.2 with no problems at all. It's possible the new version isn't that stable yet.
I would suggest installing App Trap (free Trash extension) this will get rid of files associated with any app when you drag it to the Trash. Trash the app and get version 4.4.1 from here;

Just to follow up on that last post, Viber asked if I would like to update, well really it told me to update. I allowed the update and I am now running Version 5.0 which seems to be running fine. No offer to update to 5.2.2? I assume this is a Mac Desktop version. Also note the info at the top of the Viber page, "Viber setup for Mac OSX can only take place if Viber is installed and activated on your mobile device. Click here if you do not have Viber activated on your mobile device yet"

How I solved!

I had the very same problem, I have deleted the app from application then removed the ViberPC from /Library/Application Support and Viber Download folder from Documents. Then I tried to reinstall it and activate again. this time Worked ! Hope this help to solve your problem as well

Solve the problem ( viber on Mac)

1) System setting
2) Security and Privacy
3) Turn off the firewall
4) Again open the viber. The system ask you Reopen. After Reopen the viber start.
5) You can turn on the firewar.
