Not sure if this is something that is inherent with tiger 10.4. I live right downtown in Toronto and am able to hop onto networks with ease on my PC laptop, but I have a Powerbook that I am using that only shows one network at a time and there are upwards of 20 networks available. I am not able to get onto any of the networks unless I have "excellent" connection strength.

Sorry for such a newby question, but give me some credit...I am now a mac convert!

Could well be a problem with the antennae connection to the card. What model PowerBook? Some were notoriously bad at getting wireless signals... But in theory there should be no difference with a PC or Mac for wireless access.
