I have a dual usb iBook which is connected wirelessly to a network. I also have an Alienware PC connected wirelessly. I want to be able to transfer stuff from the iBook (OSX 10.3.4) to the PC (Win XP Pro.). I can connect and copy files when I am on the PC but I can't connect to the PC from my Mac. "The alias "ALIENWARE" could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found." This is after I tried double clicking on the alias in network. I also tried going to the go menu and then "connect to server..." I typed in "smb://192.168.1.25/" that being the ip address of my laptop. It askes me for a user name and password and then gives me the message. "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "smb://192.168.1.25/" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)." Pretty much I can connect to the Mac from my PC but I can't connect to the PC from my Mac. I can however connect to another desktop PC from my Mac. Both PC's are using Windows XP pro but the desktop (the one i can connect to) uses FAT32 and the laptop (the one i can't connect to) uses NTFS. How can I connect to the PC which uses the NTFS file system? Any suggestions?
