Cannot Update to 10.3.4

I have had all kinds of freezing with my system, so I installed a 80gig hard drive, Western Digital, to start from new....I do not have OS 9.2 loaded on this drive as of yet...I downloaded the update for Panther from the Apple site, but when I try to install, it is telling me "You cannot install this software on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." Is this because I don't have OS 9.x loaded on this drive...I need an answer...Thanks, Fstop

download the combo update

here http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosxcombined1034update.html

if it a fresh install the combo installer should update 10.3 to 10.3.4

if u just download the update via apple it could of been 10.3.4 but u would require 10.3.3 to update it

so try the combo update

Panther 10.3.2....New Install

When I installed the hard drive, I bought Panther 10.3.2 and installed it in my system....So the combo update is the way to go?....I am trying to be as thorough as possible...Thanks...Fstop

use the combo to go from 10.3.2 to 10.3.4. The combo will update from 10.3.
