Hi All,
I'm having this annoying issue when I try to log in to phpmyadmin. I am working on Yosemite, 10.10 OSX
I have mysql installed with brew.

I can log into mysql as:
mysql -u root -p123

I have the same password in config.ini.php in phpmyadmin folder.

I posted the same thing at

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/29355532/cannot-log-in-to-the-mysql-server-error

But to no good, I could wrap this issue.
Can I please get some help?

Sure but can you tell us what error you're getting? So far, all we know is that you can't log in.

No, we can't. It might be easier if you simply posted the error message.

Do you have a user account? That sounds like a silly question but if you don't have a MySQL user account, you can't log in. See here for adding one.

phpMyAdmin Login Problem

To log into phpMyAdmin, you use the administrator ID and password entered through phpMyAdmin/setup/. The most common is "root" and password.

Thanks,

Is that the user/password that you set when you installed phpMyAdmin? Is this part of a hosting package or did you configure this yourself on your host?

I set it up through phpmyadmin/setup/. I'm sure you know it generates "config.inc.php. I've regenerated it several times after trying various fixes. Thanks for you help.
