Hi

I am struggling to download the newest flash player. Im on a Mac os 10.5.8. Im trying to play games and some videos and says upgrade your adobe flash player

I download from the adobe website, i go to install and it always comes up with "The application install adobe flash player quit unexpectedly"

Surely that cant be the end of that and I cant get it.

Any help where to look and get the latest flash player on my system?

Thanks

Andy

I'm not sure what is causing this error at the moment. There is another problem though:If the games you want to play need the current version of Flash I don't think that's going to work. The system requirements for the current version are as follows:

Mac OS

Intel Core™ Duo 1.83GHz or faster processor
Mac OS X v10.6, or later
Safari 5.0 or later, Mozilla Firefox 31, Google Chrome, or Opera
512MB of RAM; 128MB of graphics memory

Yeah so it seems as if its just not possible.

Crazy there is just no options.

Although now I have uninstalled flash player trying to reinstall, but still getting the quit unexpectedly error message so cant even reinstall one of the old ones.

Is there a way to upgrade the version from 10.5.8 to the newer version?

Thanks

Adobe is only actively supporting OS X from 10.6.x and later:
https://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

And if the games you want to play are like a client encountered at their favourite games site, they couldn't even update their 10.6.8 further and ended up buying a newer Mac last year.

Just like Slydude mentioned, the games site may be requiring a later Flash version than you can actually run. So you'll need to check the actual specs.

There asking FlashPlayer 11.

So just to confirm there is no way to update anything besides buying a new Mac?

I guess things need to be bought!

You can do some Flash testing to see what you actually may have working here:

and
Adobe - Flash Player

As for your Mac and possible upgrades, check your Mac model specs here and see what's supported:

Well it depends.

Is your Mac, whatever model, an Intel version? If so Apple sells Snow Leopard OS X.6 from Apple Online for $20 including delivery. If it is a PowerPC, alas no joy at all and Leopard OS X.5is now five operating systems old.

Even if your Mac is upgradeable to Snow Leopard, depending upon your Mac's spec, further versions of Flash could drop Snow Leopard support, that's 'progress'. You really need to investigate your Mac's upgrade capability before deciding if an OS upgrade is viable or its time to buy new.
