can´t recover my backup

i made a backup from my computer to an external drive using time machine, my computer was recently stolen from me, now I’m trying to get my files back from the external drive, but all the folders appear as ALIAS!!!!!!, HOW CAN I RECOVER THOSE FILES?? Please help

Try the following
Right click on the Time Machine icon on the dock and select " Browse Other Time Machine Disks "

Are you using another Mac to see the Time Machine backup?

yes, im using another one
