My iMac 18.GHZ G5 20" OS 10.5.8 is kinda slow (Word, PowerPoint, iTunes, browsing). My Apple Store friend said they're all just like that, that hard drive access is still the bottleneck.
But he also said he thought things would be better with 4GB memory. Crucial tells me the 2GB installed is the "maximum"-so what happens if I put in more? Just not recognized? Usually about 10-15% of my 2GB is still free if I have a lot of applications open, with a chunk more wired and a big chunk inactive.
And, are there any good RAMdrive options for Mac these days? (Maybe run from a USB dongle or something...)
