Hi, i'm thinking of buying a 24" iMac. I'd like to know if there is any legit way of playing either an Xbox 360, PS3 and/or Wii through the monitor though. This will save me having to have a TV and I can use one monitor for all my needs. If I play my PS3 through it will it display in HD?

Thanks.

You should also note that with video games, there is a small delay with video capture devices that effectively ruins the game as the delay can get quite frustrating.

I don't know about miglia but elgato has the hybrid and 250 which have 0 latency for gaming

The 24" has a massive resolution which is beyond HD. Even if you could get it to work, to run at native resolution, you'd have to bump up the 360/Wii signal alot.

Not really

1920 x 1200 is the native res of the 24" iMac
1920 × 1080 is 1080p (PS3). A difference of only 120 lines of vertical resolution.

Even 720p (Xbox360) scaled to the 24" monitor (just download a 720p trailer from apple.com and play it full screen) looks very good.

The wii I wouldn't both with since it can only do 480p. If you wanted to play it in a window it would be fine, but full screen it wouldn't look very good.

Of course this is all a moot point as there is no way of getting HD directly into the iMac (Unless you could somehow broadcast your game OTA and pick it up using an ATSC tuner, but lag would quite a problem there)
