Can I get Google Drive on my iPad to automatically download articles to read offline?

I save lots of articles as pdfs to read on my ipad. Is there a way I can set Google Drive to automatically download to the ipad rather than having to manually make the pdf available offline every time? More than once I've forgotten to do this and then couldn't read when I wasn't connected to the internet.
