Can an (Early 2011) MBP run with a dead battery?

Dude apple wont replace it go through a third party or just use it without it woks just keep it on a charger if that does not work remove the battery

That's actually not true - the battery needs to be at 15% or it won't power on. I had disconnected the battery and it absolutely would not tun on.

New battery in now, working perfectly.

Yeah, this is the last MBP where you could replace stuff. That's why this thing is still an amazing little machine - upgraded RAM, upgraded the harddrive to an SSD, etc.

Depressing link. I guess I have to hang onto my 2011 MBP has long as possible.
