Calendar Starts on Tuesday

When I go to print my Calendar the weeks start on a Tuesday! All fine on my Macbook and iPad but go into print and there it is Tuesday in the LH column! Now I'm not keen on Mondays but I dont want the week to end on a Monday! HELP!

I have just checked my iMac (Yosemite) and you are correct.

That is really odd and I can't find a way to change it.

Maybe Apple really do want to rule the world and they are starting off with something simple like changing the way our weeks run;-)

I assume you checked the settings?
This is Mavericks but should have something in Yosemite.

Yes I checked the settings and it is set for the week to start on Monday on screen but when I come to print that page it shows the week starting on Tuesday!

Try setting it to Sunday. Look at a calendar, it starts on a Sunday.

Set it to Sunday prepare to print and look at the print preview and it's Monday.

That's a strange one. I just checked my Calendar app and did a print preview and all is well. I have my week starting on Sunday and it prints out that way. Have you checked your date settings from System Preferences, Language & Region? Your Calendar is going to follow the format you have setup there rather than what's showing in your Calendar app.

Same here. Start on Sunday, prints starting on Sunday.

I checked System Preferences and all is as it should be.

Whatever day I set the Calendar to start on it always prints it a day later.

I wouldn't have known this if BillDrury hadn't made his original post as I never print out Calendar pages.

Sorry, I'm out of ideas on this one. I thought for sure that it would be because you had your week starting on a different day other than Sunday - in System Preferences. Do you have any other app installed that might be interfering with that setting?

I just tested and get the same results as those reporting it to start a day later. So it looks like a bug in Calendar print. But I never use print, so it's not going to bug me!

No but like MacinWin it isn't really an issue for me either just an observation.

This is a bug that is reported may times on Apple Discussions. I have now idea why everyone doesn't have the same issue.

Nobody asked what OSX PineMan and BillDrury are using but I'm running Yosemite and my week starts on Sunday and it is the same on print preview. I have to say I have never printed a calendar on Mavericks is it possible that this is a bug that has been rectified on OSX 10.10.1 ?

Would you guys please comment on whether you erased and installed, or upgraded on top of Mavericks? (and tell us whether you have the bug or not)

Hypothesis - For upgrade installs, Apple has been careless about keeping old files (like .plist files for example) whose format doesn't exactly match the new versions - causing various issues.

Upgraded over the top. Only other problem was a broken printer driver that no longer has support and DVD Player won't play DVDs from an external drive because it thinks I still have an internal player (I don't, I put in an HD in the optical bay). Otherwise running fine.

Still looking for a hypothesis that explains all these issues...
(And wish Apple had a handle on it...)
Printer driver issues are completely understandable since Yosemite tightens the restrictions on where print system files are allowed to be. A majority of drivers must be updated for Yosemite - but most seem to be already.

I don't think the hypothesis is dead. Maybe the problem isn't there if you do a nuke and pave install instead of just upgrading over the old. I did the latter, so maybe there are residuals somewhere lurking.

The printer driver was version 1.0, never got updated in 4 years, the vendor doesn't provide any support for the driver on OS X. I'm not surprised it died. As I said, they are phasing out the printer, but the replacement is US$10,000 and I'm not going to pay that much for a printer when I can pay $100 and run the printer from a Win7 image in parallels.
