We've just re-organised our lounge area (where my iMac lives) and it is now located right next to my Airport Extreme.

My question is, are there any benefits to hooking the 2 devices up via ethernet or just leaving the connection as wireless?

We do use other wireless devices here (Macbook, Apple TV, iPhone, Ipod touch).

Thanks, Nick

It really doesn't matter. If you had an external drive connected to the Airport Extreme your access to the external drive would be faster via ethernet, but that's about it.
