My screen is black and i don't knwo how to fix it...you can see a very faint picture...but its pretty much black...i've gone to "mac help" but that didnt help...please can someone give me a solution...

it sounds like your brightness is on the lowest setting.
not sure what type of mac you are using but if its an ibook or powerbook its usually F2 that you press to get it brighter. i cant recall what the buttons are on the desktops

nope thats not it...i have a powerbook G4 just got it....the brightness buttons dont do anything...even my apple is not lit...

hmmmm. are you in an area with a lot of light? try putting your hands over the speakers on the sides of the keyboards to see if maybe the sensors are not adjusted correctly
