Best Free Youtube Downloader for Mac

I am searching for free youtube downloader for my new macbook? I am doing video editing for my own company but really need that software for my video source.

Be aware that it is probably illegal for you to re-edit other people's work without their express permission.

There's a well-regarded downloading program called Downie you can try out (a search should point you to the site, I can't at the moment).

The best combination I have found is to use Firefox as your browser and then install the addon "Flashgot". It is called Flashgot but it actually works with any video from YouTube (and most other sites). Make sure the video is actually playing before trying to download. After the video is playing, use a right click to access the Flashgot menu.
