best dvd authoring software?

Hi,im going to be buying an imac very soon and i used to use TMPG authoring works 4 for XP.that program did exactly what i wanted.It could take any file format IE: mpeg,avi,etc.. and decode it into dvd vob files and write it to a dvd5 or 9.change the framerate,audio bitrate,aspect ratio,etc..now i had to have klite codec pack installed on my xp system but im wondering what is the best program to do this for mac?and do i need anything like a codec pack for mac or no?

Don't know that there is anything to compete with the TMPG products. There sure wasn't on the windows side. I loved TMPGEnc. But just haven't done much of that in the past few years.

I'd say check out Roxio's Toast.
