To be honest, whining about it doesn't help. Neither does advertising it in your sig...

Climb.. for thememory ... yeah you dont want to go too cheap. That stuff is made in factories that have histories of having 2nds and blems, due to "not so stringent" air filtration when they make this stuff in the dyes and such. Cheaper memory wont last. Go with Kingston (lifetime warranty) or better.

In terms of slideshows... its already got iphoto! You're set. If you need to control it and do a presentation you can do it through Front Row which comes bundled with the Mac. If you need more than that... try iwork 06. It has Keynote, which is like Powerpoint.. but WAY BETTER

uh... I wouldnt do that. Cracking open Mac notebooks are fairly lenghty processes and aside from that, you can just build your own external drive... thats what I've got.

Geez, it's only $155 more. If you're going to be that upset by it just spend the money and get what you really obviously want. Considering how much you're spending, $155 is not that big of a deal here...

For the monitor adapter, is there a cheaper place to get the mini-dvi to vga and mini-dvi to dvi than directly from mac. Also, if i buy the mini-dvi to dvi and a dvi to vga adapter will it work or is the dvi port digital only when using the mini-dvi to dvi?
thanks!

I thought about it, after selling the printer and iPod and upgrading the memory ill spent about $1,175 so $155 is ~13% more which is a lot. My biggest objection is scumming to the $155 for black. Its more an issue of principle.
