So, I've had my unibody MacBook for nearly two months now and everything's great, only instead of the tasty 5-6 hours the battery lasted on full charge, in the last couple of days it lasts only 3 hours max on full charge. Can I ask Apple to replace the battery on my warranty as it's annoying me so much?

3hrs is really a more realistic time. And depends on the work load too. but to drop that significantly might be worth the try. Heard a good will story earlier today in the forum and was a good outcome.
Doesnt hurt to try, just be nice and dont go in there looking for a fight :)

Post back and let us know the outcome

Cheers

Have you tried calibrating your battery:

Apple Portables: Calibrating your computer's battery for best performance

Also, your battery life can vary significantly based on the applications you're running. If you open Activity Monitor and sort by CPU usage, sometimes you can identify runaway processes that are hogging the CPU and therefore robbing you of battery life.

Hahaha, when I only have non-heavy duty apps running, the one with the second highest CPU is Activity Monitor.

I know it's silly to expect the battery life to really be 7 hours but it's just so sad when things aren't perfect any more. Will call Apple tomorrow and ask nicely.

Thanks very much for the link, cwa. I will recalibrate my battery later. Turned Bluetooth off as well as I never ever use it and it's just... there.

try resetting the pram. Also a clean install of snow leopard helps. At least it did for me.

I reinstalled Snow Leopard the other week but thanks for suggesting.
