Just got an old early 2015 13" macbook Pro retina in service. Battery cycles were less than 1000. The last couple weeks the battery is just crashing. Started hearing the fan much more and in just 45 min lost over 50% power. I redid the thermal paste and added 1 TB SSD. Partitioned with Windows 10 also. Any ideas or suggestions. Thx much!

It sounds like you need a new battery. What does coconutBattery have to say about the overall health? Compare design capacity to full charge capacity.

Thx, the fan vents may have been blocked by pillow, so I'm hoping that is it.

One way to destroy a lithium-ion battery is to let it get down to below 30% charge and then put it in storage so that the charge level gets even lower.

So your battery may be permanently damaged.
