bad mouse signals

when I put my mouse over something and click it, I see a menu saying several options none of which applies. It repeats again three or moe times. I cannot get the results I waNTUNTIL it stops doing this.

Your mouse doesn't work like you want it to? What kind of mouse are you working with?

I solved the problem by restoring the mouse to its default settings, i.e., one click rather than the right and left click.
