At what age did you start (or do you plan to start) to live alone?

I'm with mudpuppy. Joined the Navy at 17.

I'm with both of you but lets be honest, when you are in the Military you're not really "living alone". You are away from home but there is a huge support structure in place for things like Healthcare, Dental, housing and you get a regular paycheck unless you really screw up. It's not really the same as going out and finding a job, getting health insurance, finding your own place to live (that comes solely out of your own pocket, the military gives you a housing allowance or you live on-base) and so on.

Based on the above, I was 29 when I really got out "on my own" when I left the Navy.
