The thing that bothers me about articles like this is they never seem to pay any attention to the effect of such a close approach to the Earth (and potentially even closer to the Moon) on the Asteroid's trajectory.
The orbit has to change (even a little). So will that increase or decrease the likelihood of future Earth impact?
