And, rumor has it that it will also appear in the larger version of the iMac and possibly a new Mac Pro.

So I guess that's how they are differentiating the different lines of the M-based Macs. I wonder what kind of performance increase we will get with the M2 and if the RAM is uncoupled and able to be upgraded beyond 16GB.

I was hoping the article would at least indicate what the basic diffence is between the M1 ad M2 chip, but absolutely nothing.

Yeah, should be interesting. I can't imagine a new large screen iMac and Mac Pro with a limit on memory. I'm only hoping Apple doesn't go too high with the price of a larger screen iMac. However, I'm betting there will be a price increase for a 30" or 32" 5K M2 iMac.

And with memory and storage being integrated with the new silicon setup, it means there will be no user added memory or storage after the purchase.

Memory and storage doesn't have to be integrated, but it probably will be so that Apple can make a few more bucks.
Per the article:
As before, the M2 would be a complete system-on-a-chip, with CPU, GPU and AI processors all integrated.

I'm afraid that the days of doing memory and storage upgrades yourself are over. But there is a possibility that a new Mac Pro will be upgradeable.
