Whether this helps or not, I should mention that your version of Monterey is somewhat out of date. The current version is 12.5

My suggestion is that you should update to the latest version. There were several security patches in the previous updates and subtle changes in functions.

I don't have an Apple Watch, but the thought occurs to me that perhaps yours is not fully up to date either??

Who knows; maybe your problems will then be solved:);)

Go to System Preferences/Security & Privacy, click the lock icon, enter your password. Now un-check the "Use your Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac," and then check it again. You will be prompted for your password.

I have to do this about once a week to get the  Watch working again to unlock my Mac. Don't know why.

Humm, I know I did that earlier in the process. Maybe I just need to do it more often (but don't really need this feature as my keyboard has finger-id).

Nope, it didn't help.
