Didn't know where else to post this, so here it goes.
I live in Denmark. Have a US refurbished Macbook Pro that I am trying to sell on an eBay-like site. Posted a price that is just above the average, hoping to get a good price for my MBP.
I got an email from someone in Nigeria wanting to buy my machine. No request for a lower price. Will cover shipping.
Now, I am generally a trusting person, but this set off some alarm bells (I have spent too many hours reading 409 eaters). I asked how they intend to pay and it was via international bank transfer. I have used a bank transfer in the past and feel pretty safe using it; if it was Western Union it might be a different story.
Is it not possible for someone to buy Apple products in Nigeria? I found no official store in the country on Apple's site.
Am I getting scammed?
Part of me wants to ignore all communication (there has only been 1 email from me), while part of me wants to sell my MBP for a high price.
