Apple Mail won't send or receive anymore - unless I restart

I have the newer Mac Pro and ever since upgrading to Yosemite, my Apple Mail program is terrible. I can restart and get Mail to send and receive, and then after a while it gets "stuck" again and I have to restart to get it to work with my Yahoo! Business Mail. It can't be a Yahoo issue since my iPads and iPhones connect with no issues. Anyone else seen this or know a fix? This is driving me nuts!

Hi Jcable!

If you search this forum you will find there have been a lot of issues with mail and Yosemite. I had huge issues especially with Gmail. First it would get mail but not send. Then it would send - sometimes.

Have you installed all Yosemite updates? One of those was specific to mail issues. I found after the second update to Yosemite and setting my DSL modem firewall to it's minimum settings all my accounts now work fine.

Have you tried Googling Yahoo! Business Mail and Yosemite issues? There are a lot of suggested work-a-rounds.

Tried Googling it...

I still have not found anything that points to my problem. I am hoping that 10.10.2 fixes this problem. If not, Apple is going to hear from me!
