Apple mail keeps crashing - lidArgumentException

OS 10.15.7, Mail Version 13.4 (3608.120.23.2.7)

That is it, it crashes. There seems to be no pattern to it. And I get the following message:

Do the crashes happen when you check for new mail?
Or when you do a search for an older mail message?
Or when you read certain types of mail?

No

Or when you read certain types of mail?

what I noted is that it seems to happen when one of my Applescripts sends a mail. but not sure that is so. It tends to hang in the morning when I look in to it.

Thanks for the links, I think I tried most of it, but need to look again when I am back at the Mac-mini.

PS there is two accounts with Mail and both are POP accounts.
