Apple Mail 4.6 plays music all the time!

Hi

I am using Apple Mail 4.6 on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8 and my Mail programme is driving me mad, as soon as I launch the programme it starts playing a loop of Rock music over and over again and I can't work out how to stop it, as soon as I quit Mail it stops. Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received as it's affecting my sanity.

Look for a third party application or utility that can assign sounds (music) to certain actions that you take on your Mac, like opening mail. What have you installed lately, or what have you been downloading, and from where? Is that particular piece of rock music something that you have in your iTunes music library?

Problem solved!

Well just as fast as it appeared the problem has gone away, my inbox was getting cluttered so I went through and deleted loads of unwanted messages and hey presto! the music had stopped playing, unfortunately I don't know which message caused it as I had the volume turned down.

Explanation: there was a window that opened behind your main Mail window of a particular email you once opened that had a music loop in it. Since you never closed it, it re-opened every time you opened Mail.
