They won't remove the backlit keyboard imo... They will probably make it thinner, and possibly larger trackpad. But that's about it I think for the redesign.

Yeah i think you are right, they def. wont take the backlit keyboard away, thats one of the MBP's key features. But i wish they would put it on the Macbook lol

If I had to guess, it would look like the MBA with the with the black keys that are lit like the MBA.

i really hope they dont change it soon because i just got my blackbook and i love it, if a diffrent better looking one comes out its going to drive me crazy, especially if the current ones drop in price.....thats going to be a bummer!!!!

If/when it does come out, the current one WILL drop in price. The new ones will most likely be the same price you payed, and the refurb ones will drop a few hundred dollars to get rid of old stock. It is what happens in technology, it advances.

i am saving up for a macbook at the moment, i will make sure i get one before this travesty occurs!

Wow man, i think the aluminum looks awesome. The white macbook looks almost cheap to me, hence the reason i'll be getting the blackbook. And if the updates occur before i buy it, great, if not then thats great to , at least ill have my mac lol

i bit back in the end of march, on a 2.4 penryn MBP, and dont have any regrets.

so what if they redesign it? my machine still does what i need it to do.

i could see them making just a bigger MBA, with a 9600gt or something, thatd be cool, but come on, who are we all kidding. The MBP is the sexiest FUNCTION laptop around, STILL! the air is a decent design, but come on, its the same price as a nice MBP.

So when exactly is the third quarter? I'm not so much caught up in wanting the latest and greatest but I really don't want to spend more money than I have to on the current models. I'll need a computer eventually but I can definitely make due for a little while at the start of next semester if it meant saving a couple hundred bucks. But then again when would the current MBP's hit the refurbished scene? I can get an educational discount but even the "last gen" notebooks are more than that and the only real savings is refurbished. But the refurbs right now don't have enough hard drive space which is exactly why I'm looking at the newer MBP's.

The 3rd Quarter of the year is July 1 - Sept 30.

I'm hoping for a MacBook redesign. Aluminum case and a better graphics chip would be killer.

Yeah, I've only had mine a year, but I originally wanted the Pro. If they make the MacBook on spec with the mid-2007 MBP, I'll be a giddy little boy.
