When I start from waking up my M2 Mac Mini I'm plagued by this notice Forcing me to reset password. I am not in any group or similar. My question how do I fix this from re appearing. Your help will be gratefully received.
I notice that Bob says Please backup. Every thing has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.
I also subscribe to the Three golden rules of computing, Back up, Back up and Back up.

A standalone computer should not be prompting you to change your password. My personal MBA has the same password since I bought it a couple of years ago. My work MBP is tightly controlled and requires a password change every 90 days.

Please take a picture of what you are seeing so that we can see what you are seeing.

I on occasion get prompts suggesting certain passwords are changed, and giving the reason for the suggestion, but nothing forceful. Though it can't be that forceful if you have not changed it yet.

What password is it "forcing" you to change? The account password, your AppleID password, or something else?

Check the settings you have possibly ie: make sure require passwordisn't checked
in your System Preferences: ie:

Screen Shot 1.png t as an option

Not likely, Patrick, as that just requires a password, not that the user change the password. But maybe the OP misunderstood what was being asked?

I have now made a thorough check on all that you have suggested, clicked on restart and would you believe it, the pesky message has disappeared. Blood pressure returning to normal. My thanks to all who have taken the trouble to answer my query.
